North Coast women’s lacrosse squads posted a perfect 12-0 mark last week, improving to 15-2 against non-conference foes. Allegheny leads all NCAC teams as the Gators are off to their best start in school history with a perfect 5-0 mark. Non-Conference contests continue this week with a number of NCAC teams on the road for spring break trips.

ALLEGHENY sophomore McKenzie Bell (Akron, OH/Walsh Jesuit) set the program’s career record in assists, leading the Gators to a 3-0 week to maintain their unbeaten start to the 2014 campaign. On March 9th, Bell recorded two assists, giving her 80 career helpers, one more than previous record holder and 2011 All-American Jensen Paterson. Bell finished the week with 19 points on eight goals and 11 assists in her record-setting week.

DENISON began its season with a pair of victories over Adrian and Sewanee in Tennessee. The victories marked the first at DU for first-year head coach Amanda Daniels. Claire Ludlow (Saugatuck, MI/East Grand Rapids) led Denison with four goals against Adrian.

KENYON stormed out to a quick start to the 2014 season. The Ladies opened play with a 17-13 win at Puget Sound in which senior Alex Bair (Darien, CT/Darien) scored six goals. Two days later, freshman Allie McLane (South Hamilton, MA/St. George’s) scored five times in the Ladies’ 18-4 lopsided win at Linfield.

HIRAM evened its record at 1-1 after picking up an 8-6 win over Hilbert on Friday. Sophomore attacker JoLyn Grover (Grand Blanc, MI/Grand Blanc) posted four goals on 11 shots to lead the Terriers. Hiram returns to action Friday (3/14) as they host Mount Union at 4:00 p.m.

OBERLIN cruised past Otterbein in its season-opening game, defeating the Cardinals 10-3. The victory marked the first win of Head Coach Lynda McCandlish’s career. Sophomore Grace Barlow (Elm Grove, WI/Brookfield East) led the Yeowomen with four goals and two assists in the win.
