  • DEN's Goodspeed & Israel named IWLCA All-Americans

    Two members of the Denison women's lacrosse team earned All-American honors from the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Wednesday morning, securing third-team accolades for senior midfielder Leah Israel (Bloomfield Hills, MI/Cranbrook Kingswood) and junior defender Jane Goodspeed (East Grand Rapids, MI/East Grand Rapids). These selections move Denison's impressive total to 28 All-Americans in program history.
  • Denison Leads NCAC In Final Learfield Standings

    Following the completion of the 2017-18 NCAA Division III competition season, four North Coast Athletic Conference schools ranked in the top-70 of the Learfield Directors' Cup standings, led by Denison finishing 44th out of 323 eligible institutions with 382.00 total points. Schools must have competed in an NCAA Championship event during the academic year in order to compile points in the standings.
  • Denison Falls at Salisbury in NCAA Tourney

    Denison women's lacrosse suffered a 16-4 loss on Saturday afternoon to No. 2 Salisbury University in the third round of the NCAA Division III Tournament at Sea Gull Stadium. The Big Red finished the 2018 season at 17-3 overall, setting a new program record for wins (17) in a season.
  • 10 Student-Athletes Named Academic All-District

    The 2017-18 College of Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA)/Google Cloud Academic All-District Men's & Women's At-Large Teams were released on May 17th with 10 student-athletes from the NCAC being named to the first team in the seventh district.

    Led by six first-team selections, 11 total women's lacrosse players from the NCAC were named to the 2018 Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) All-Great Lakes Region Team, it was announced by the organization on May 17th.
  • Denison Wins Record 16th NCAC All-Sports Title

    Denison won two outright league titles in men's swimming & diving and women's lacrosse, shared the league title with Kenyon in field hockey and posted 14 additional top-five finishes during the 2017-18 academic year to win its league-leading 16th North Coast Athletic Conference All-Sports Championship.

    The Denison University women’s lacrosse team (15-3) earned its 13th NCAC title after defeating Wooster (12-4), 17-10, on Saturday, May 5th, in the 2018 NCAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament championship game in Granville, Ohio.

    In the semifinal round of the 2018 NCAC Women’s Lacrosse Tournament on Wednesday afternoon, top-seeded Denison (15-2) cruised to a 24-8 victory against fourth-seeded Allegheny (9-8), while third-seeded Wooster (12-3) upset second-seeded Oberlin (10-6) by a 14-11 margin in Oberlin, setting up a matchup between the Big Reed and the Fighting Scots in Saturday’s championship game at 1:00 p.m. in Granville.

    Heading into the final week of the regular season, Denison (12-2, 6-0) holds a one game lead over Oberlin (9-4, 5-1), but the seeding for the NCAC Tournament remains completely up for grabs. North Coast action continues this week with four games on Wednesday and the league schedule concludes with four more games on Saturday.

The race to qualify for the NCAC Tournament remains tight as Kenyon (3-2, 9-4), Wooster (2-2, 6-3) and Allegheny (2-2, 6-6) are all tied in third with two conference losses each. Conference play continues this week, with four games each on Tuesday and Saturday, highlighted by Kenyon visiting Oberlin on Saturday.
