GREENCASTLE, Ind. - Anne Moelk, former head coach at Denison University and Ohio University and longtime trainer with the US Lacrosse Coaches Development Program, is DePauw's choice to lead the women's lacrosse program as its head coach.
"I am thrilled to be joining the athletics staff at DePauw as the women's lacrosse coach," Moelk said.
"From the minute I stepped on campus, I felt welcomed and excited to be there. DePauw has a long history of excellence, both academically and athletically. The campus is a quintessential college setting that is attractive to recruits and the educational opportunities are second-to-none. I know that the current players are dedicated to the team's success and I can't wait to help them find that success on and off of the field."
Moelk earned a Bachelor of Arts degree at Denison while majoring in history and played both lacrosse and field hockey for the Big Red. An All-NCAC athlete in women's lacrosse, she stayed on as an assistant coach in both sports for two years before moving to Princeton University as an intern assistant coach for one season.
Moelk returned to her alma mater as head coach of both sports for the 1995-96 academic year and posted a 12-2 record in lacrosse and 11-7 in field hockey. She then moved on to The Ohio State University as an assistant women's lacrosse coach for the program's first three varsity seasons and earned a Master of Arts in Sport and Exercise Studies degree there before beginning a four-year stint as the first head coach at Division I Ohio University.
After serving as head coach for England's Under 21 Squad, she earned a Juris Doctor from William Mitchell College of Law in St. Paul, Minn. From 2009-2014, Moelk was the student affairs assistant director and assistant Title IX coordinator for the Mitchell Hamile School of Law before moving to and assistant dean position in 2014 until 2017. During this time she also was the co-head coach for the Minnesota Lakers Select Travel Club girls lacrosse team and the first commissioner of the North Central Women's Lacrosse League.
Since January of 2017 Moelk has been the Director of Student Supoort, Title IX Coordinator at University of Indianapolis. A trainer in the U.S. Lacrosse Coaches Development Program since 2007, Moelk has been head coach and recruiting director for the Indy United Select Club team since 2017.
"We are excited to have Anne join TeamDePauw and I am grateful for Jillian Howley's commitment to the program over the last two seasons as an assistant coach and then as the interim head coach since January of this year," said Stevie Baker-Watson, DePauw Associate Vice President for Campus Wellness and Theodore Katula Director of Athletics.
