GRANVILLE, Ohio – Denison University's Amanda Daniels was recognized by the Intercollegiate Women's Lacrosse Coaches Association (IWLCA) on Thursday afternoon as the Great Lakes Region's Coach of the Year following the Big Red's sixth-straight NCAC Tournament championship and the program's 21st trip to the NCAA Tournament.

Claiming her second Coach of the Year honor in the Great Lakes Region since 2016, Daniels led the Big Red to a record of 16-5 in 2019 while going a perfect 8-0 in North Coast Athletic Conference play for the fourth-straight year. Denison also moved their regular-season conference winning streak to 37-straight games dating back to April 11, 2015.

Daniels also helped DU secure seven All-NCAC selections, five All-Region honorees, and senior defender Jane Goodspeed as a second-team IWLCA All-American. Also recognized as an All-American in 2018, Goodspeed is the third Denison player under Daniels to be honored as an All-American, joining Claire Ludlow (2016-17) and Leah Israel (2018).

In her six seasons at the helm of the Big Red, Daniels has compiled a record of 85-30 (.739), including a 42-4 mark in the North Coast Athletic Conference. In Denison's 20-9 win over John Carroll on April 17, Daniels became the program's all-time winningest coach, surpassing Stephani Schmidt's 80 career victories at DU. She is also a four-time NCAC regular-season champion and has won the NCAC Tournament in each of her six years in Granville.
