GREENCASTLE, Indiana -- Cristin Allen, head women's soccer coach at Franklin College each of the last two seasons, has been named head women's soccer coach at DePauw. She replaces Kristina Corona who resigned earlier this month.

"I am so excited to be joining TeamDePauw and am grateful for the opportunity to be the women's soccer coach and have a positive impact on the program and its players," Allen said.

"I want to thank Stevie Baker-Watson (DePauw Associate Vice President for Campus Wellness and Theodore Katula Director of Athletics) for entrusting me to lead the women's soccer program and I cannot wait to meet the players and get started this fall. I know the current players are committed to the team's success and are dedicated to working hard to continue to elevate DePauw women's soccer.

In two seasons with the Grizzlies, Allen's teams posted a 22-14-1 record including 14-5 in 2017. The 2017 squad won the Heartland Collegiate Athletic Conference regular season title as well as the postseason tournament championship to earn the program's first appearance in the NCAA Division III Championship.

A 2002 graduate of Belmont University in Nashville, Tenn., Allen briefly served as an assistant at DePauw in 2016. She also was assistant women's soccer coach and recruiting coordinator at Vanderbilt University from 2005-10 after assistant coaching stints at Goucher College (2004-05) and at Saint Cecilia Academy (2002-04).

Additionally, she has over 15 years experience at the club and travel level and, in 2009, was named both the Tennessee Competitive Coach of the Year and the Brentwood (Tenn.) Soccer Club Coach of the Year. Allen led the Brentwood Premier Girls team to three straight Tennessee state titles and three regional quarterfinal appearances.

As a student-athlete at Belmont, Allen served as a captain her senior season while earning all-Atlantic Sun honors. She was an all-Ohio Valley Conference choice as a junior and still holds the school career records for points (75) and assists (31) and is tied for second with 22 goals. Her 10 assists in 2001 remain a school record as she owns three of the top four single-season assist totals in school history. Allen earned CoSIDA Academic All-District honors in 2001 and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree while majoring in English. She was inducted into the school's Athletic Hall of Fame in 2014.

"We're fortunate to have someone with Cristin's experience to lead the women's soccer program and I'm excited to have her as a part of our athletics team," Baker-Watson said.

Allen added, "There is an energy at DePauw that is infectious, and the academic and athletic programs are second-to-none, which are attractive combinations for our recruits. Our mission is to build a program that continues to not just attract the best women's soccer players in the country, but to become a destination for players who want the best athletics, academics, and who want to grow to be better people. Our vision is to help create leaders who not only want the best, but who are willing to do what is takes to be the best, and we think we have what it takes to do just that at DePauw."
