2019 NCAC Women's Soccer Athletes of the Week

September 3rd

Holly Thompson, Wooster
(West Chester, OH/Lakota East)

Wooster sophomore Holly Thompson recorded the first multi-goal game of her career on Sunday at Adrian. The sophomore scored both Fighting Scot goals as they tied the Bulldogs, 2-2. Wooster also took a 1-0 victory at Marietta on Friday. Thompson’s two goals currently leads the confernce through week one.  


September 9th

Ashley Smiley, Ohio Wesleyan
(Delaware, OH/Hayes)

Ohio Wesleyan junior Ashley Smiley set up a game-winning goal and followed with an insurance goal in a 4-0 victory against Manchester on Wednesday. She then scored twice against Washington & Jefferson on Saturday, including what proved to be deciding goal, in a 3-1 win. She finished the week with three goals and an assist as the Battling Bishops improved to 3-1 on the season. 


September 16th

Fallon Raviol, Kenyon
(Bronxville, NY/Bronxville)

Kenyon senior forward Fallon Raviol tallied a team-high five points as the Ladies upset 15th-ranked and previously unbeaten Otterbein on Saturday in Gambier. Raviol scored the game’s first goal 33 seconds in and added another in the first half. Kenyon’s 5-4 victory against the Cardinals marked the first time since Aug. 31, 2007, against No. 5 Calvin that the Ladies beat a ranked team in the regular season.


September 23rd

Jenna McCarroll, DePauw
(Crown Point, IN/Crown Point)

DePauw senior midfielder Jenna McCarroll delivered the game-winning goal in a 1-0 victory over Aurora last week. She also contributed on the defensive end, helping the Tigers pitch their second consecutive shutout and third of the season.


September 30th

Abby King, Denison
(Grosse Ile, MI/Western Reserve Academy) 

Denison sophomore Abby King registered a game-winning goal and assist in a 2-0 victory against Capital before adding another goal in a 2-0 victory against Ohio Wesleyan on Saturday.


October 7th

Ashley Smiley, Ohio Wesleyan
(Delaware, OH/Hayes)

Ohio Wesleyan junior Ashley Smiley scored the game-winning goal in a 3-0 victory at Baldwin Wallace on Wednesday. She followed that up with a hat trick to power the Bishops to 3-0 win at Oberlin on Saturday. It was her first hat trick since Oct. 13, 2018, and her second all-time for the Bishops. Her performance on the week raised her league-leading totals to 11 goals and 26 points. Smiley also shares the league lead in game-winning goals (2) and assists (4).
