  • Denison Promotes Scott to Head Women's Tennis Coach
    July 14, 2017
    After three seasons as assistant men's and women's tennis coach, Jamie Scott has been promoted to head women's tennis coach at Denison University. Longtime head coach and all-time wins leader, Peter Burling will continue in his role as the head men's tennis coach, a position he has held for 27 seasons.
  • Ladies Fall To Gustavus In NCAA Play
    May 14, 2017
    Gustavas Adolphus College earned a 5-3 win over the Kenyon Ladies tennis team on Saturday in the second round of the NCAA Division III Tournament. The loss ends Kenyon's season with a 13-10 overall mark.

    Denison sophomore Lauren Hawley (Dayton, OH/Archbishop Alter) has been named the Player of the Year and Wooster freshman Joy Li (Beijing, China/Weil Tennis Acad. (CA) was named the Newcomer of the Year to highlight the 2017 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's tennis selections.
  • Kenyon Set To Open NCAA Play In Chicago

    After winning its first NCAC Women’s Tennis championship since 2001, the Kenyon Ladies booked their ticket to compete in the 49-team 2017 NCAA Division Women’s Tennis Championship, which is set to begin with first-third round matchups this weekend, May 12-14.
  • Kenyon Captures 16th NCAC Women's Tennis Title

    The 2017 NCAC Women's Tennis Championships came to a close on Sunday afternoon at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, with second-seeded Kenyon (12-9) capturing its first conference title since 2001 and 16th overall with a 5-4 victory over top-seeded DePauw (15-7) in the championship match. With the victory, the Ladies have earned the league's automatic bid into the 2017 NCAA Division III Women's Tennis Tournament.

    NCAC women’s tennis teams will conclude conference play this week in preparation for the 2017 NCAC Women’s Tennis Championships, which will be held at both Kenyon and Denison, April 28-30. Following the completion of all conference matches this weekend, the league’s seeding committee will meet on Sunday and the official brackets for the tournament will be released next Monday, April 24.

    Nationally-ranked DePauw highlighted NCAC women’s tennis action last week by going 2-1 at the annual Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin. With the 2017 NCAC Women’s Tennis Championships just two weeks away, there is a full slate of conference action this week, led by DePauw traveling to Ohio Wesleyan on Friday in the West and Kenyon hosting Oberlin on Saturday in the East.

    There were several NCAC cross-divisional matches in women’s tennis action last week, while the first NCAC East match of the season took place on Sunday with nationally-ranked Kenyon topping Allegheny by a 9-0 margin. NCAC East action continues this week with Oberlin hosting Wooster on Friday night, while the weekend schedule also features Denison, DePauw and Kenyon competing at the annual Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin.

There are seven total matches on the slate this week, which includes Wittenberg (0-0, 4-5) taking on several out of region opponents on its annual spring break trip in Orlando, Florida.

    Last week’s women’s tennis slate was highlighted by a pair of NCAC cross-divisional matches in Greencastle, Indiana, that saw nationally-ranked DePauw (0-0, 4-2) post a 9-0 win over Wooster (0-0, 1-3) and a 6-3 victory over nationally-ranked Oberlin (0-0, 4-6). There are only five matches on the women’s schedule this week, led by Wittenberg kicking off its spring break trip in Florida on Sunday against King’s.
