Kenyon senior Amy Schlessman posted a 2-1 singles record and a 3-0 doubles record in the Ladies’ three conference team wins this past week. Playing at No. 1 singles she defeated her opponents from Wooster and Allegheny. She also played at No. 1 doubles with Taylor Diffley (Hampton Bays, NY/Hampton Bays) to post wins of 8-0, 9-7, and 8-5. Schlessman’s season records now stand at 12-3 in singles matches and 11-5 in doubles matches.

DePauw junior Meg Crowley posted a 3-0 record in singles as the Tigers picked up three NCAC West Division victories last week. In her first No. 3 singles match of the week against Wittenberg, Crowley won 6-0, 6-0, while besting Denison No. 2 singles player 6-4, before retiring. In DePauw’s last match of the week against Ohio Wesleyan, Crowley won by the scores of 6-1, 6-0 at the No. 2 singles spot. In doubles play, Crowley continued to play well with partner Claire Marshall (Marietta, GA/George Walton) as the duo posted a 3-0 record at the top flight doubles pairing.

DePauw sophomore Claire Marshall posted a 3-0 record at number two singles with three straight-set wins at the Midwest Invitational. In her first No. 2 singles match of the week against Carleton, Marshall won 6-4, 6-4, while besting Washington U No. 2 singles player 6-4, 6-3, later in the day. In DePauw’s last match of the week against Case, Marshall won by the scores of 6-2, 6-1. In doubles play, Marshall continued to play well with partner Meg Crowley (Barrington, IL/Barrington) as the duo posted a 2-1 record at the top flight doubles pairing.
Farah Leclercq, Oberlin
Oberlin senior Farah Leclercq went a perfect 5-0 in play last week. In her first No. 1 singles match of the week against Carleton, Leclercq won 7-5, 6-4, while besting Virginia Wesleyan’s No. 1 singles player 6-2, 6-1, later in the day. In Oberlin’s last match of the week against St. Olaf, Leclercq won by the scores of 6-1, 6-0. In doubles play, Leclercq continued to play well with partner Grace Porter (Bainbridge Island, WA/Bainbridge) by winning two matches over Oberlin’s spring trip, 8-5, against both Carleton and St. Olaf.
Allegheny junior Carolyn Shetter swept top-flight singles and scored a 2-1 record in top-flight pairs to pace the Gators to a 2-1 record last week over spring training. Shetter picked up a pair of straight set singles wins before finishing off the trip with a come from behind one-set deficit to take a 10-3 tie breaker in the squad’s final meet of spring training against Macalester.
Oberlin senior Farah Leclercq went a perfect 4-0 in play last week, playing the top spot in both singles and doubles, guiding the Yeowomen to a pair of 7-2 victories. In her first singles match of the week against Ohio Northern on Friday, Leclercq won 6-1, 6-2, while besting John Carroll’s top singles player 6-0, 6-1, one day later. In doubles play, Leclercq continued to play well with partner Grace Porter (Bainbridge Island, WA/Bainbridge) by winning Friday’s match, 8-4, and Saturday’s match by the shutout of 8-0.

Denison junior Kelsey Geppner extended her singles winning streak to four with victories against Wooster and Division I George Mason. Against the Scots, Geppner improved to 2-1 at No. 1 singles thanks to a 6-1, 6-1 decision. On Sunday against George Mason, Geppner’s three-set victory over Maya Hicks secured the Big Red’s victory over the Division I opponent. The junior easily took the opening set 6-2 before dropping the second, 7-5. In the third-and final set, Geppner won a dominating 10-2 decision. Geppner also improved to 4-2 in doubles action following a pair of wins at the top flight.

DePauw sophomore Julie Wittwer led the Tigers to a perfect 3-0 week after posting a 3-0 record at both No. 5 singles and No. 3 doubles. The Tigers opened the week with a convincing 8-1 triumph over Olivet Nazarene on Monday and then picked up a pair of 5-4 triumphs over Washington (MO) and Wisconsin-Whitewater on Saturday.
Oberlin junior Brenna Sheldon was a double winner in the Yeowomen’s 8-1 triumph over Otterbein on Saturday. Sheldon cruised to a straight set 6-0, 6-0 victory at No. 2 singles, and also cruised to an 8-4 victory at No. 2 doubles with senior Preeya Shah (Hurricane, WV/Winfield).
