Oberlin senior Grace Porter combined for a perfect 4-0 record in a pair of NCAC East wins last week to help the Yeowomen clinch the No. 2 seed in the upcoming NCAC Tennis Championships. Porter earned a pair of wins in the top singles flight last week, which included a 6-3, 1-6, 6-1 victory over Kenyon’s Diana Aboubakare, while also joining with freshman Sarah Hughes (Haddonfield, NJ/Merion Mercy Acad.) for two wins in the top doubles flight.
|Andrea Brush, Allegheny

Allegheny junior Andrea Brush went 1-1 in singles action and 2-0 in doubles action over the course of action last weekend, but no win was more important than her 2-6, 7-5, 6-4 come-from-behind win in the fourth singles flight that catapulted the Gators to their first win over Kenyon since the 1984-85 season. The Gators led the Ladies, 2-1, after doubles competition, but that lead quickly diminished as KC won the first three singles matches and held a 4-2 edge, before Allegheny capped off the improbable comeback with Brush’s victory.

DePauw senior Claire Marshall led the Tigers to a second-place finish at the Midwest Invitational in Madison, Wisconsin, last weekend by combining for a 4-2 record in three total matches. She was 2-1 in the top singles flight and also 2-1 in the top doubles position with classmate Maggie MacPhail (Indianapolis, IN/Park Tudor). The Tigers topped Gustavus Adolphus, 8-1, in the opening round and No. 23 Case, 5-4, in the semifinals, before falling to No. 11 Washington (MO), 5-1, in the championship match.
|Courtney Brown, Denison
Denison freshman Courtney Brown went 2-0 in singles play and 1-1 in doubles action last week. Her biggest win came on Friday night against Hope as she collected her first-career singles victory over a regionally-ranked opponent by topping Claire Cooper 3-6, 6-1, 7-6 in the top flight. She also posted a straight-set victory over OWU’s Brooke Butterworth on Thursday with set scores of 6-3, 6-0. In doubles action, she paired with classmate Rochell Issa (Maumee, OH/Maumee Valley Country Day) in the second flight for an 8-0 victory against OWU and a narrow 8-5 loss against Hope.
|Sun Mo Koo, Allegheny
Allegheny junior Sun Mo Moo posted a perfect record in Hilton Head last week to lead the Gators to a perfect record on their spring training trip for the second year in a row. In four wins last week against Edgewood, Messiah, St. Norbert and Macalaster, Koo went a perfect 4-0 in the top singles flight and also joined with classmate Sloane Prince (Parkersburg, WV/Parkersburg) for a 4-0 mark in the top doubles flight.

Ohio Wesleyan senior Whitney Lonnemannwent 3-1 in singles action and 4-1 in doubles matches to lead the Bishops to a 4-1 record over a three-day stretch in Hilton Head, South Carolina, last week. She was a double winner in three OWU victories against Marietta (3 doubles, 4 singles), Webster (3 doubles, 5 singles) and Bridgewater (2 doubles, 5 singles).

DePauw senior Maggie MacPhail helped the 17th-ranked Tigers rebound from a 6-3 loss against No. 33 Hope on Thursday by posting a perfect 2-0 record in DPU’s 5-4 upset victory over ninth-ranked Chicago on Sunday. MacPhail opened the match against the Maroons by joining with classmate Claire Marshall (Marietta, GA/George Walton) for an 8-5 win at No. 1 doubles, before defeating UC’s Megan Tang 6-3, 6-1 in the second singles position.
|Diana Aboubakare, Kenyon
Kenyon freshman Diana Aboubakare helped guide the Ladies to their first two victories of the 2014-15 season last week over Ohio Wesleyan, 7-2, and Indiana Tech, 9-0, with a perfect 4-0 record in both singles and doubles competition. Aboubakare joined with junior Samantha Murphy (Jeromesville, OH/Wooster) for a pair of victories in the top doubles flight, while also posting a pair of straight-set victories in the top singles flight against OWU, 6-0, 6-1, and Indiana Tech, 6-0, 6-0.

DePauw senior Julie Witwer posted a perfect 4-0 record to help the Tigers earn a pair of home victories on Saturday against Olivet Nazarene, 6-3, and Rhodes, 9-0. Witwer teamed with classmate Kaitlin Pickrel (Kettering, OH/Fairmont) for a perfect 2-0 record at No. 2 doubles, before posting a pair of singles wins in the third flight against Rhodes and in the fourth flight against Olivet Nazarene.
Erin Johnson, Oberlin
Oberlin junior Erin Johnson won two of her three matches on Saturday to help the Yeowomen earn a split on the day, with an 8-1 win over Otterbein and an 8-1 setback against No. 23 Case. Johnson joined with sophomore Emma Brezel (Port Washington, NY/Paul D. Schreiber) for an 8-4 win at No. 1 doubles over Otterbein, while also earning a 9-8 (7-3) pro set victory over Otterbein’s Rylie Markle at No. 3 singles. She also suffered a narrow 6-4, 7-5 loss at No. 6 singles against Case’s Nina Cepeda.
