  • Hiram Names Aline Head Volleyball Coach

    Aline (dos Santos) Scott has been named the new head coach of the Hiram College volleyball program. She replaces Scott Carter, who spent the previous three seasons at the helm.
  • Denison Names Graves Head Volleyball Coach

    Denison Director of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation Nan Carney-DeBord has announced the hiring of Sarah Graves as head volleyball coach and associate professor of physical education. Graves comes to Denison after six seasons as an assistant coach at Macalester College (Minn.).

  • Whisner Takes New Position At Denison

    Denison University Director of Athletics Nan Carney-DeBord has announced a new appointment within the Department of Athletics, Physical Education and Recreation. Lynsey Whisner, the college's current head volleyball coach, will assume the role of a director of club sports, intramurals and student wellness, a new position within the department.

    Top-seeded Wittenberg (27-3) claimed its 20th North Coast Athletic Conference Volleyball Tournament title and earned the league’s automatic bid into the NCAA Division III Volleyball Tournament after defeating DePauw, 3-1, in the tournament championship match on Saturday night at Pam Evans Smith Arena in Springfield, Ohio.

  • Wittenberg Duo Earns Academic All-District Honors

    The Wittenberg volleyball duo of senior setter Meghan Vodopich (Canton, OH/Massillon Perry) and junior outside hitter Kara Seidenstricker (London, OH/Jonathan Alder) were named to the 2014 Capital One Academic All-District Team, it was announced by the College Sports Information Directors of America (CoSIDA) on November 6th.

    Wittenberg (8-0, 24-3) has won its 20th North Coast Athletic Conference volleyball championship after finishing the season with a perfect mark against league foes for the fourth year in a row and the 17th time overall. Allegheny is second all-time with five titles (1985, 88-91), while Hiram, Kenyon and Ohio Wesleyan have each accumulated two titles. Wooster earned the inaugural conference championship in 1984.

    Wittenberg (8-0, 21-3) has earned its league-leading 20th North Coast volleyball title after picking up a pair of victories last weekend against Hiram, 3-1, and Allegheny, 3-0. As league champions, the Tigers have secured the hosting rights for the 2014 NCAC Tournament, which will be held in Springfield, Nov. 7-8.

    With two weeks remaining on the North Coast volleyball regular season schedule, Wittenberg (6-0, 18-3) and Hiram (5-0, 19-4) both remain unbeaten in league play. However, one of the two will suffer their first conference loss this Friday as Wittenberg hosts Hiram at 7:00 p.m. in Springfield. There are nine total league matches on the slate this week with one on Tuesday and four each on Friday and Saturday.
