The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) released the 2017 Division III All-Region Teams on November 9th with seven student-athletes from the North Coast Athletic Conference being named to the All-Great Lakes Region Team.
Five of the players were named to All-Great Lakes Region first team, including Ohio Wesleyan senior outside hitter Iris Anderson (Elk Grove, CA/Christian Brothers), Wittenberg senior outside hitter Maddie Fischer (Minerva, OH/Minerva), DePauw junior outside hitter Suzanne Peters (Ft. Wayne, IN/Homestead), DePauw sophomore right-side hitter Morgan Stearley (Center Point, IN/Northview) and Wittenberg junior setter Karen Wildemann (Columbus, IN/North).
The two remaining players were named to the honorable mention team, including Wittenberg sophomore middle blocker Aubrey Cox (Tips City, OH/Tippecanoe) and DePauw senior setter Keegan Kollias (Zionsville, IN/Zionsville).
The AVCA, with its headquarters in Lexington, Ky., is managed by Associations International. The mission of the AVCA is to advance the sport of volleyball with AVCA coaches at the epicenter of leadership, advocacy and professional development. With a membership of over 6,400 and counting, the AVCA provides a professional network for those individuals and companies dedicated to enhancing and promoting the sport. Members include collegiate, high school, club, youth and Olympic coaches, as well as volleyball club directors.
