  • Oberlin's Arthur Named 2016 Hunsinger Award Winner

    Recent Oberlin College graduate and cross country and track & field runner Geno Arthur (Camarillo, CA/Rio Mesa) has been selected as the recipient of the 2016 North Coast Athletic Conference Don Hunsinger Award.
  • 2012 DU Grad Dee Salukombo Olympics Bound

    Denison University All-American and 2012 graduate Makorobondo "Dee" Salukombo has qualified for the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro after his ninth-place finish at the Scotiabank Ottawa Marathon on May 29 in Ottawa, Ontario. Salukombo, who holds dual citizenship, will run for his native Democratic Republic of the Congo.

    The 2015 NCAA Division III Men’s & Women’s Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Wis.-Oshkosh at the Lake Breeze Golf Club Cross Country Course in Winneconne, Wisconsin, next Saturday, Nov. 21. The top two teams from each regional automatically qualified for the national meet, while at-large berths were also awarded for 16 other teams, selected by the national committee. Aside from runners who are part of the qualifying teams, eight individuals from each gender also qualified from each region.

    All nine North Coast cross country squads continued their seasons on Saturday at the Great Lakes Regional on the LaVerne Gibson Course in Terre Haute, Indiana, hosted by Rose Hulman Institute of Technology.

    Allegheny completed the clean at the 2015 NCAC Cross Country Championships held at Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, on Saturday, October 31. The women’s team won its first league championship since 2007 and its 12th overall, while the men’s team hoisted the trophy for the first time since 2012 and also the 12th time in program history.

    North Coast cross squads wrapped up the regular season portion of their schedules last weekend with all nine schools in competition. The 2015 NCAC Cross Country Championships will be hosted by Kenyon College in Gambier, Ohio, on Saturday, October 31st. The women’s race will begin at 11:00 a.m., with the men’s race to follow at 11:45 a.m.

    North Coast cross country teams were all idle last week, but they will return to the circuit this weekend with all nine schools in action. League squads begin action on Friday with Wittenberg and Wooster competing at the Wilmington #JennaStrong Classic. Conference teams return to the course on Saturday with six league squads competing at the Oberlin Inter-Regional Rumble and Ohio Wesleyan and Wabash taking part in the Brooks AAE Invitational in Oshkosh, Wisconsin.

    The six Ohio-based league cross country squads traveled to Cedarville University on Friday for the annual All-Ohio Championships, while DePauw and Wabash were both in action on Saturday at the Greater Louisville Invitational and Allegheny competed at the Lehigh Paul Short Invitational on Friday. All nine league squads will be idle this weekend.

    There was minimal action the North Coast cross circuit last weekend as just Denison and Wittenberg were in action on Saturday at the Rose-Hulman Pre-Regional Invitational. All nine league squads will return to action this weekend, led by the six Ohio-based schools traveling to Cedarville for the annual All-Ohio Championships.

Six of the nine league squads will be in action this weekend, led by DePauw and Wabash traveling to Terre Haute, Indiana, on Friday for the Indiana Intercollegiates.
