INDIANAPOLIS, IN -- On Sunday, Nov. 17, the NCAA announced the 16 Division III Cross Country teams who received at-large bids to accompany the 16 automatic qualifying teams at the NCAA Division III Cross Country Championships.
After third- and fifth-place finishes at the Great Lakes regional, the Oberlin and Allegheny Women's Cross Country teams received at-large bids to the national championship.
The top seven individuals from each region not on a qualifying team also received a bid to the championships. Four NCAC runners will race next weekend, including DePauw's Zane Williams (Carmel, IN/Carmel), Cole Martin (Noblesville, IN/Noblesville) and Jenny Noll (La Porte, Ind./La Porte) along with Kenyon's Emma Becker (Rocky River, OH/ Magnificat).
At the Great Lakes regional, Williams led all NCAC male runners with a 15th-place finish (24:32.26), while Martin was four spots behind his teammate taking 19th (24:35.63). On the women's side, Becker recorded an eighth-place finish (21:38.34), while DePauw's Noll finished 11th (21:46.700).
In total, 32 teams and 56 additional individuals will make up the 2019 championship field. The 2019 NCAA Division III Men's & Women's Cross Country Championships will be held at E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park (Louisville, KY) with Spalding University serving as the host. The races will be held on Nov. 23 with the men's 8K beginning at 10:45 a.m. and the women's 6K scheduled for 11:45 a.m.
