2006 NCAC Men's Runners of the Week

Kenyon sophomore Jim Boston (Brookville, WI/Marquette) finished first of 
24 runners in the Lords' dual meet at Oberlin on Oct. 13. He ran the five-
kilometer course in 15:27.

Denison junior Joel Bendtsen (Chillicothe, OH/Chillicothe) took fifth 
in 27:06.5 in the Division III race of the All-Ohio Championships. He 
led the Big Red to a fourth-place team finish, the best by a North Coast 
squad.

Wabash sophomore Sam Compton-Craig (Tipton, IN/Tipton) turned in a time 
of 26:30 to finish 97th out of 205 runners in the Gold Division at the 
Notre Dame Invitational.

Oberlin senior Travis Grout (Jefferson, OH/Jefferson Area) won the 152-
runner Otterbein Invitational.  He finished the eight-kilometer course in 
26:35, leading the Yeomen to a fourth-place finish at the 12-team event.

Allegheny junior Ryan Place (Meshoppen, PA/Elk Lake) won the 141-runner 
Pre-Regional meet hosted by Waynesburg. Place finished the eight-kilometer 
course in 26:06, leading the Gators to a second-place team finish 
(16 teams).

Ohio Wesleyan senior Matt Kempton (Fredericktown, OH/Fredericktown) was 
the top NCAC finisher at the GLCA Championships, held at Earlham on Sat., 
Sept. 9. He finished in third place with a time of 26:43 over 8K, leading 
the Bishops to a second-place team finish.

Earlham senior Walker Yane (Oldenburg, IN/Cincinnati St. Xavier) placed 
second of 101 runners at the Franklin Invitational on Sept. 2. He finished 
the eight-kilometer course in 26:55.10.
