2006 NCAC Women's Runners of the Week

October 15, 2006

Wooster senior Ashley Zervos (Wheeling, WV/The Linsly School) finished 
first of 30 runners at the Scots' Jim Bean Classic on Oct. 13. She 
completed the five-kilometer course in 20:31, leading her team to a 
first-place finish.

October 8, 2006

At the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan, Wooster senior 
Katie Wieferich (Marietta, OH/Marietta) won the overall meet, becoming 
the first non-Division I competitor to do so since a Malone runner 
crossed first at the 2000 meet. Wieferich took individual honors by 
nearly 13 seconds over runner-up Jamie Roflow of Bowling Green, with a 
time of 18:11.5. Wooster finished ninth as a team.

Earlham sophomore Michelle Crane (Mansfield, OH/St. Peter's) finished 
ninth of 96 runners at the Earlham Invitational.  She finished the five-
kilometer race in 20:37 as the Quakers finished seventh of 11 teams.

September 24, 2006

Allegheny senior Scarlett Graham (Farmington, PA/Uniontown) finished 
14th of 181 runners at Wilmington's NCAA Division III Pre-National meet.  
She finished the six-kilometer race in 22:43 as the Gators finished 
seventh of 16 teams.

Wooster senior Katie Wieferich (Marietta, OH/Marietta) won the Carl 
Broughton Invitational at Marietta, outdistancing a field of 75 runners 
with a course-record time of 18:34. Wieferich, who was competing for the 
first time this season and won five races in 2005, led her team to a 
second-place finish in the meet.

September 10, 2006

Oberlin sophomore Maddy Davis-Hayes (Philadelphia, PA/Germantown Friends) 
was the top NCAC finisher at the GLCA Championships, held at Earlham on 
Sat., Sept. 9. she finished in second place with a time of 19:33, leading 
the Yeowomen to the team title.

Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Catie Coleman (Lodi, OH/Cloverleaf) finished 23rd 
of 94 runners and was the first Division III runner to finish at the 
Dayton Flyer 5K Challenge on Sept. 2. She crossed the line in 19:44.
