2008 NCAC Runners of the Week

WOMEN
October 19
Senior David Stefanik (Wooster, OH/Wooster) led Ohio Wesleyan to a 19th-of-32 team finish at the Wisconsin-Oshkosh Brooks Invitational. He completed the 8K course in 25:57 to finish 87th individually.

Denison was led by sophomore Katie Navarre’s (Upper Arlington, OH/Upper Arlington) individual victory in the 210-runner field at the Wilmington Invitational. Navarre completed the five-kilometer course in 18:23.14 as the Big Red finished fifth in the team standings.
October 12
Denison senior Grant Russo (Medina, OH/Medina) placed fourth in a field of 138 Division III runners at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Friday, Oct. 10. Russo completed the eight-kilometer course in 26:18, good for 23rd of 280 runners overall, leading the Big Red to a fourth-of-20 team finish.
Oberlin sophomore Joanna Johnson (Chico, CA/Chico) was the Division III champion at the All-Ohio Championships, hosted by Ohio Wesleyan on Friday, Oct. 10. Johnson completed the five-kilometer course in 18:31, good for ninth place overall, leading the Yeowomen to a fourth-of-19 team finish.
October 7
Allegheny junior Tony DiPre (Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) finished second of 230 runners at the Pre-National meet hosted by Hanover. DiPre completed the eight-kilometer course in 25:33, leading the Gators to the team title.

Allegheny sophomore Katie Stancik (Russell, OH/Chagrin Falls) placed 26th of 172 runners at the Pre-National meet hosted by Hanover. Stancik completed the five-kilometer course in 23:50, leading the Gators to an eighth-place team finish.
September 28
Allegheny sophomore Zac Ross (Meadville, PA/Meadville Area) won the Allegheny Invitational. He defeated a field of 36 runners with a time of 26:20 over eight kilometers, leading the Gators to a first of 3 team finish.
Oberlin senior Nicky Ouellet (Dunbarton, NH/Goffstown) placed seventh of 280 runners at the Otterbein Pre-Regional meet. She finished the six-kilometer race in a time of 22:23 to lead the Yeowomen to a third place team finish.
September 21
Denison freshman Dee Salukombo (Lakewood, OH/Lakewood) paced the Big Red with a fourth-place finish among 187 runners at the Calvin Invitational. He finished the race with a time of 25:35 and Denison placed sixth of 11 teams.
Earlham senior Michelle Crane (Mansfield, OH/St. Peter's) was the team's top finisher at the Indiana Intercollegiates. Crane completed the five-kilometer course in 19:52 to finish 12th of 103 runners. The Quakers placed 12th of 14 teams.
September 13
Allegheny junior Tony Dipre (Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) won the Waynesburg Invitational. He completed the eight-kilometer course in 25:57 as the Gatrs won the team title over 13 squads.
Allegheny junior Mia Symoniak (East Snyder, NY/Amherst) placed fifth at the Waynesburg Invitational. She finished the six-kilometer race in a
time of 23:33, as the Gators placed third in the 13-team field.
September 7
Kenyon senior Jim Boston (Brookfield, WI/Marquette) finished 10th with a t
ime of 15:55.20 over five kilometers at Northern Kentucky's Queen City
Invitational. Kenyon placed fourth in the team standings.

Kenyon sophomore Chrissy Ostrowski (Oakmont, PA/Riverview) was 21st of 105 runners at the Queen City Invitational. She completed the 5K race with a time of 19:44, and was the highest Division III finisher in the meet. Kenyon placed fourth as a team.
September 2
Oberlin senior Ryan King (Glastonbury, CT/Glastonbury) ran the 8000-meter course at the season-opening Case Western Reserve Bill Sudek Classic in 27:34 and placed 12th of 130 runners in the men's race. He lead the Yeomen to a fourth-place finish in the eight-team field.

Oberlin sophomore Joanna Johnson (Chico, CA/Chico) was the individual champion among 139 runners at the season-opening Case Western Reserve Bill Sudek Classic on Saturday, August 30. She covered the 5000-meter course in 18:38 to lead the Yeowomen to a 2nd-of-10 team finish.
