In the NCAC tournament championship game, McDonald was dominant at the net, recording 17 kills to lead Wittenberg past runner-up, Denison in three games. __________________________________________________________________________ November 3, 2002 NORMAN NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Hiram junior setter Charity Norman (Port Washington, OH/Indian Valley) led the Terriers to their school-record 17th victory of the season, a 3-1 decision over Case Western Reserve. She had 47 assists and 19 digs in that contest. Norman ranks fifth in the NCAC with 8.06 assists per game. __________________________________________________________________________ October 27, 2002 YUSKEWICH NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Sophomore setter Sarah Yuskewich (Columbus, OH/Watterson) led Wittenberg to a 2-2 mark at the Wisconsin-Whitewater Invitational. Yuskewich averaged 15.29 assists in the four matches, including 85 versus the host school, against opponents that were all ranked in the top 18 in NCAA Division III. She leads the NCAC with 14.75 assists per game this season. __________________________________________________________________________ October 20, 2002 THORNTON NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Ohio Wesleyan senior outside hitter Emily Thornton (Columbus, OH/Watterson) had 21 kills, six service aces and 29 digs as the Bishops won twice in NCAC action. __________________________________________________________________________ October 13, 2002 TOTH NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Hiram freshman middle hitter Shana Toth (Mantua, OH/Crestwood) led the Terriers to a runner-up finish in the Hiram/Extreme Pizza Invitational. Toth had 62 kills, 36 blocks, and 23 digs in Hiram’s 3-1 week, highlighted by a 22-kill performance in a win over Pitt-Bradford. She ranks fifth in the conference in kills per game (3.17) and third in blocks (1.34 per game). __________________________________________________________________________ October 6, 2002 RICE NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Wooster freshman Tiffany Rice (Canton, OH/McKinley) totaled 30 kills against just four attack errors, and 16 digs and six total blocks in Wooster’s 2-1 week. __________________________________________________________________________ September 29, 2002 KELLER NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Wittenberg senior middle hitter Tiffany Keller (Massillon, OH/Tuslaw) led the Tigers to victory in the Wittenberg Invitational. She had 62 kills (3.8 per game average), six stuff blocks, eight assists and a .523 kill percentage. She was Wittenberg’s representative on the all-tournament team. __________________________________________________________________________ September 22, 2002 ARNOLD NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Kenyon senior Cori Arnold (West Lafayette, OH/Ridgewood) amassed 48 kills, 16 blocks and 46 digs in three contests last week, leading the Ladies to a 2-1 week. She ranks second in the conference with 3.58 kills per game and stands fourth with 1.25 blocks per game. __________________________________________________________________________ September 15, 2002 TURK NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Denison senior Becky Turk (Middleburg Hts., OH/Midpark) led the Big Red to a second-place finish in the John Carroll/Case Western Reserve tournament. She smashed 51 kills on 81 attempts with only two errors (.646 hitting percentage), and contributed 15 blocks in 12 games. For the week, Turk averaged 4.25 kills and 1.25 blocks per game. __________________________________________________________________________
