ALLEGHENY’S Zac Ross (Meadville, PA/Meadville) and Tony Dipre (Twinsburg, OH/Walsh Jesuit) claimed solo victories in the 3,000-meter and mile runs, respectively, at Mount Union’s Jim Wuske Invitational. Ross crossed the finish line for his win in 8:56.38. For his victory, Dipre finished in 4:17.36. Senior Mia Symoniak (East Snyder, NY/Amherst) won the 3,000-meter run (10:34.92), sophomore Lauren Butler (New Kensington, PA/Kiski Area) topped the field in the shot put (11.84 meters, 38 feet, 10.5 inches) and junior Katie Stancik (South Russell, OH/Chagrin Falls) claimed the 5,000 (19:17.79) for Allegheny women.

DENISON sophomore Dee Salukombo (Lakewood, OH/Lakewood) and juniors Alphonse Harris (Cincinnati, OH/Sycamore) and Russell Holden (Chagrin Falls, OH/Western Reserve Academy) all notched victories as the Denison men’s team took fourth at the Greater Columbus Invitational hosted by Capital. Salukombo took first in the mile run with a time of 4:25.56, and Harris posted a time of 9:31.27 in the 3,000-meter run. Holden recorded a time of 16:33.62 in the 5,000-meter run. The Denison women also finished fourth in the event. Junior Katie Navarre (Upper Arlington, OH/Upper Arlington) paced the Big Red with a victory in the 3,000-meter run, crossing the line at 10:37.46. Sophomore Jane Zelenkov (Englewood, CO/Regis Jesuit) finished runner up in the 500-meter run with a mark of 1:27.72.

The OBERLIN women won their own five-team Invitational with 129 points to top second-place Ursuline (114). Junior Amanda Miller (Toledo, OH/Cardinal Stritch) won the 400 meters in 1:01.42 and also ran the leadoff leg of the winning 4x200 meter relay that posted a season-best time of 1:51.12. The Yeomen finished third of four teams with 107 points. Edinboro took the team title with 152 points. Shawn Chrapczynski (Lorain, OH/Amherst Steele) took the 200 meters in 22.99

OHIO WESLEYAN senior Kyle Faris (Olmsted Falls, OH/Olmsted Falls) and freshman Silas Jolliff (Cardington, OH/Cardington-Lincoln) won two events apiece, and the trio of junior Sean Patrick (Delaware, OH/Hayes), freshman Jake Eldridge (London, OH/London), and freshman Stephen Haynes (Crestview, FL/Niceville) helped the Battling Bishops sweep both relay events as Ohio Wesleyan won the team title at the Greater Columbus Championship hosted by Capital. OWU won the meet with 205 points to 113 for runner-up Capital. Faris won the shot put with a throw of 47-2 1/2 and took the weight throw with a heave of 47-1 3/4. Jolliff won the 200- and 400-meter dashes in respective times of :22.43 and :49.93. Patrick, Eldridge, and Haynes combined with Jolliff to win the 800-meter relay in 1:30.79, while the trio teamed with freshman Matt Martin (New Brighton, PA/Riverside) to win the 1600-meter relay in 3:29.62. The Bishop women finished second of four at the meet. Freshman Emily Amburgey (Germantown, OH/Preble Shawnee), junior Kat Zimmerly (Edinboro, PA/General McLane), senior Sharon Rymut (Broadview Heights, OH/Brecksville-Broadview Heights), and freshman Jane Lehman (Amherst, OH/Steele) each won individual events. Amburgey won the high jump by clearing 5-2 1/4 and added a fourth-place finish in the long jump and a fifth in the 60-meter hurdles. Zimmerly won the mile run (5:15.76), Rymut won the weight throw with an effort of 44-4 and Lehman won the 5000-meter run (19:28.06).

WABASH finished third of seven teams at the DePauw Tiger Invitational. Sophomore Jake Zielinski (South Bend, IN/Marian) and senior Emmanuel Aouad (Terre Haute, IN/North) scored first place individual finishes while Wabash added two relay victories. Zielinski crossed the finish line first in the 400-meter dash with a winning time of 51.41. Aouad advanced to the finals of the 55-meter hurdles by posting the top preliminaries time of 7.90. He followed with a win in the finals with a time of 7.73. Wabash won the distance medley relay with a time of 10:38.28. The Little Giants’ 800-meter relay team also finished in first place with a time of 1:31.32.

POSTPONEMENTS/CANCELLATIONS
EARLHAM was set to compete at the Anderson Invitational, however the meet was canceled due to the winter storm sweeping the region on Feb. 5-6 ... KENYON did not compete at the Greater Columbus Championship due to a level-2 snow emergency in Knox County ... WITTENBERG did not travel to the Tiger Invitational at DePauw due to the bout of inclement weather that swept through the region on Feb. 5-6 ... WOOSTER did not travel to the Oberlin Invitational due to the inclement weather blanketing the region on Feb. 5-6.
