The Big Red are the first NCAC team to win three consecutive championships since Ohio Wesleyan in 1989, '90 and '91. Denison totaled 130 points to 96 for second-place Oberlin, which improved 25 points and three positions from its finish a year ago. The Yeowomen won four events. Five-time champion Allegheny won two events and placed third with 85 points, followed closely by Ohio Wesleyan (80) in fourth, and Wittenberg (71) in fifth. Wooster (63), Earlham (35), Hiram (34) and Kenyon (28) took places six through nine. Freshman Allison Nickel (Cincinnati, Ohio; Anderson) was the individual star for Denison, winning the 400 (59.76) and anchoring the first-place 4x200 relay (1.47.15), which set a new NCAC mark. Oberlin freshman Courtney Stackhouse (Woodbridge, Va.; Bishop Ireton) paced the Yeowomen, setting two NCAC records with wins in the 55 meter dash (7.36) and in the 200 (26.36), earning her Most Valuable Performer honors in sprints. Teammate Apryl Wynn (Cleveland, Ohio; South), a sophomore, was named MVP in field events after she won the triple jump (35" 8-1/2") and placed fifth in the long jump (16' 1-1/4"). Wynn also ran the first leg of the second-place 4x200-meter relay (1.47.41) and finished eighth in the 55-meter hurdles (9.97). Other top performers were turned in by Denison seniors Megan Tarr (Anderson, Ind.; Anderson), who won her third straight pole vault competition (9' 6-1/2"), Holly Schmitt (Wyoming, Ohio; Wyoming) who won the 1500 (4:48.55) and Katie Castille (Greensburg, Pa.; Hempfield) who won the 400 (59.76). Ohio Wesleyan senior Donielle Albrecht (Norwich, Vt.; Hanover) won the shot put (40'9"), teammate Stephanie Moss (Aurora, Ohio; Crestwood), a junior, won the 800 (2:22.95).
