__________________________________________________________________________ April 28, 2008 Allegheny senior Emily Pfeufer (St. Marys, PA/Elk County Catholic) scored 4,388 points to win the heptathlon at the NCAC Multi-Event Championships, hosted by Oberlin on April 26-27. She outscored the runner-up by 227 points. Pfeufer won three of the seven events: the high jump (1.57m/5-01.75), long jump (5.34m/17-06.25) and javelin (37.84m/124-02) and qualified for the NCAA III championships in the heptathlon. __________________________________________________________________________ April 21, 2008 Women's Distance/Middle Distance Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Claire Everhart (Edinboro, PA/General McLane) won the mile at the Kenyon Spring Invitational. Her time was 4:49.67. Women's Sprints/Hurdles Allegheny freshman Becca Lendyak (Cowansville, PA/Ford City) was second in the 100 meters (12.91), third in the 200 meters (26.98) and was part of the 4x100 meter relay that finished in a conference-season-best 50.91 seconds at the Indiana (PA) Invitational. Women's Field Allegheny senior Liz Earley (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) won the hammer with an NCAA automatic qualifying mark of 177 feet even at the Indiana (PA) Invitational. She also was third in the shot put. Her distance of 39 feet, 2.5 inches leads the NCAC. __________________________________________________________________________ April 14, 2008 Women's Distance/Middle Distance Wooster freshman Suzanne Capehart (Oak Hill, VA/Oakton) finished fourth in the 5,000 meters at the All-Ohio Championships. She finished in 18:48.82. Women's Sprints/Hurdles Oberlin sophomore Madeline Schultz (Concord, MA/Concord Carlisle) ran a leg on a victorious relay and was second in the 400-meter hurdles with 1:05.71 clocking at the All-Ohio Championships. The Yeowomen claimed the title in the 4x400-meter relay with a school-record time of 4:02.12. Women's Field Wooster junior Kayla Miller (Mercer, PA/Mercer Area) placed third in the triple jump (35 feet, 3 1/4 inches), leading the Fighting Scots to a 14th-place team finish at the All-Ohio Championships. __________________________________________________________________________ April 7, 2008 Women's Middle Distance/Distance Oberlin senior Anna Chernin (Ann Arbor, MI/Ann Arbor Central) was second in the 800 meters at the Marv Frye Invitational. She crossed the finish line in 2:15.72. Women's Sprints/Hurdles Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Casey Ridgeway (Fredercktown, OH/Fredericktown) placed second in the 200 meters with a time of 25.99 seconds and was third in the 100 meters in 12.61 seconds at the Marv Frye Invitational. Women's Field Allegheny senior Liz Earley (Venetia, PA/Peters Township) won the hammer throw at the Washington & Jefferson Invitational. Her effort measured 171 feet, 10 inches, the best in NCAA III this season. __________________________________________________________________________ March 31, 2008 Women's Middle Distance/Distance Oberlin's Johnanna Johnson (Chico, CA/Chico) placed second in the 10,000 meters at the Rice Bayou Classic. She finished the race with a time of 37:41.01. Women's Sprints/Hurdles Earlham senior Sara Bohall (Westport, IN/Columbus East) won the 100- (15.49) and 400- (1:03.87) meter hurdles. Both of her times were meet records, and her clocking in the 400 was also a Quaker school record and an NCAA Div. III provisional qualifying mark. Women's Field Senior Ashley Shaffer (Lancaster, OH/Lancaster) placed second in the heptathlon at the Rhodes Invitational. She scored 4013 points and was just 87 points shy of qualifying provisionally for the NCAA Div. III championships. __________________________________________________________________________ March 24, 2008 Women's distance Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Kara Reiter (Chardon, OH/Chardon) finished third in the 1500 meters at the Muskingum Invitational. Reiter posted a time of 5:08.42. Women's Sprints/Hurdles Ohio Wesleyan freshman Lainey Kekic (Canfield, OH/Western Reserve) won the 200 meters at the Muskingum Invitational (26.65 seconds) and ran the lead leg on the victorious 4x400-meter relay that finished in 4:15. Women's Field Ohio Wesleyan sophomore Sharon Rymut (Broadview Hts., OH/Brecksville- Broadview Hts) placed third in the discus at the Muskingum Invitational.
