Melissa Gartner, Wittenberg Wittenberg freshman goalkeeper Melissa Gartner made eight saves and pitched a shutout to help the Tigers to their fourth straight NCAC tournament championship. She made five saves in a 1-0 semifinal victory against Allegheny and had three saves in the championship against Earlham, including a late acrobatic stop to preserve the Tiger lead. Wittenberg took the championship, 2-1. This seaosn, Gartner has posted a 0.36 GAA and an .863 save percentage with 12 shutouts and only seven goals allowed. |

Joy Doucette, Earlham Earlham freshman forward/midfielder Joy Doucette helped the Quakers earn their first ever NCAC tournament berth with a pair of goals in the last week of the regular season. She single-handedly kept the Quakers in contention with a game-tying goal in a 1-1 double overtime game against Kenyon. She then tied a must-win game at Ohio Wesleyan 1-1 at the 70:36 mark of the second half. Earlham went on to win, 2-1. |

Callie Thompson, Earlham Earlham senior forward Callie Thompson scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Quakers to a 4-1 victory over Hiram. Her first was a penalty kick at the 20:26 mark of the first half. Her second proved to be the deciding goal of the match. She also set-up an insurance goal in the second half. The goals upped her total to four this fall. |

Caddie Durrett, Kenyon Kenyon sophomore forward Caddie Durrett scored all three of the Ladies’ goals last week, including a spectacular game-winning, diving header against Wittenberg in overtime. Kenyon edged the Tigers, 2-1, and also slipped past Hiram, 1-0. Durrett scored against the Terriers with 1:14 left in the game. She now leads the Ladies with six goals this season. |

Jen Clemmer, Denison Denison junior forward/midfielder Jen Clemmer scored twice and added one assist in Denison’s 3-0 win over Allegheny. She also posted one goal and one assist in the Big Red’s 5-1 road win at Oberlin, helping the Big Red toa 2-0 week. |

Sheryl Chambers, Wittenberg Sophomore Sheryl Chambers scored both of Wittenberg’s goals in a pair of 1-0 North Coast victories. Chambers scored in the 35th minute of a decision over Ohio Wesleyan, then followed with an overtime goal with 28 seconds left to hand Wooster its first loss of 2009. |

Stefanie Couchman, Kenyon Kenyon senior Stefanie Couchman scored all three goals in the Ladies’ 3-0 defeat of Mount Union, nearly doubling her career totals entering the game. The three-goal output was one shy of the single-game school record. Kenyon (3-5-0) won twice last week with victories over Heidelberg, 2-0, and the Purple Raiders. |

Claire Conner, Hiram Junior forward Claire Conner scored four times in Hiram’s 3-0 week. She added two assists to total 10 points as the Terriers shut out Trine, 6-0, Baldwin-Wallace, 1-0, and Franklin, 2-0. She made seven shots on goal. Conner accounted for the game’s only scoring against the Yellow Jackets. |

Chantal Koechli, Wooster Senior midfielder Chantal Koechli was named tourney MVP at the Marietta Classic and totaled a goal and two assists for the week. She drilled a penalty kick during the 81st minute versus Marietta for the match’s lone goal. After helping the defense to its second-straight 1-0 shutout at Washington & Jefferson, Koechli assisted on the first two scores of the Fighting Scots’ 3-1 victory at Bethany.The first came on a corner kick and the second on a play into the box. |

Belle Madison, Ohio Wesleyan Ohio Wesleyan sophomore midfielder Belle Madison scored a pair of goals to help the Battling Bishops to a 2-0 start. She had the game-winner in a 3-0 victory over St. John Fisher and then scored to wipe out a 1-0 deficit against Medaille. Madison set up the game-winner versus Medaille to finish the week with two goals and an assist. |
