She also added an insurance goal in the second half. The win gave Ohio Wesleyan its fourth straight NCAC Championship. __________________________________________________________________________ October 27, 2002 LEAHY NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Denison junior goalkeeper Jess Leahy (Worthington, OH/Kilbourne) notched her ninth and 10th shutouts of the season last week. She recorded 12 saves in a pair of NCAC victories. She has lowered in her goals- against average to 0.51. __________________________________________________________________________ October 20, 2002 WITCHEY NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Wooster freshman midfielder Danielle Witchey (Columbus, OH/Bishop Watterson) scored a goal in each of the Scots' two conference wins this week. Both goals were the second scores of the game. __________________________________________________________________________ October 13, 2002 DIMAR NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Wittenberg freshman defender Alecia Dimar (Louisville, KY/DuPont Manual) scored her first two goals of the season - both were gamewinners. The Tigers defeated Earlham, 2-0, and Oberlin, 1-0, last week. __________________________________________________________________________ October 6, 2002 OWANGA NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Earlham forward Angelique Owanga (Atlanta, GA/Northfield Mt. Hermon, MA) scored two goals in Earlham’s first victory of 2002, a 3-1 decision over Anderson. The Quakers went on to defeat Hiram, 1-0, later in the week. __________________________________________________________________________ September 29, 2002 BLAND NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Ohio Wesleyan senior midfielder Lindsey Bland (Columbus, OH/Hilliard Darby) added some spice to the Bishops season last week, scoring three goals in two games. She recorded one in a 5-0 conference win over Earlham and added two more in a 5-0 win over Wilmington. __________________________________________________________________________ September 22, 2002 WOESSNER NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Wittenberg junior midfielder Geri Woessner (Dayton, OH/Oakwood) scored twice in a 4-0 defeat of Muskingum and added a goal and an assist in a 2-0 victory over Hiram. She leads the Tigers with five goals and 12 points in eight games (1.67 ppg), and ranks fifth in the conference in scoring. __________________________________________________________________________ September 15, 2002 OCH NAMED NCAC PLAYER OF THE WEEK Allegheny senior midfielder Jane Och (Pittsburgh, PA/Upper St. Clair) led the Gators with two goals and an assist in two games last week.
