CLEVELAND -- Denison sophomore Meghan Damico (Pittsburgh, PA/Fox Chapel) has been named Player of the Year to highlight the 2007 All-North Coast Athletic Conference women's tennis selections.

Damico, who compiled a 14-4 record in singles this spring, is a repeat first-team selection. She is joined on the first team by two other repeat first-teamers, Kenyon senior Ashley Kriwinsky (Munson, OH/Hawken), last year's Player and Newcomer of the year, and Wooster senior Joanna Tysko (Athens, OH/Athens). Tysko earns her fourth straight All-NCAC recognition; she was voted to the second team in 2004 and 2005. Ohio Wesleyan senior Laura Bernstein (Greenwich, CT/Greenwich) moves up to the first team after earning second-team recognition in 2006 and Oberlin senior Bianca Barr (Chicago, IL/Libertyville) moves up after appearing as a member of the honorable mention squad last year.

Denison freshman Marta Drane (Wilmington, DE/Tower Hill) makes her all-conference debut as a member of the first team. She was named Newcomer of the Year after she posted an 11-7 mark in singles play in her rookie campaign.

Drane and senior Whitney Block (Lake Bluff, IL/Lake Forest), Damico and sophomore Kendra Murray (St. Louis, MO/Kirkwood) and Kriwinsky and sophomore Alexis Marino (Perrysburg, OH/St. Ursula) are first-team doubles selections.

Denison's Peter Burling is the women's tennis Coach of the Year for the sixth time after guiding the Big Red to their sixth straight, and seventh overall, North Coast title with a 17-4 mark. He has a 139-47 record in the nine seasons he has coached the women's team at Denison. Burling also coaches the Big Red men's tennis team and has earned this honor seven times in that role.
